Neil Armstrong Dead At 82
I am heartbroken to share this news that “Neil Armstrong-the first man walks on the moon has passed away because of certain complication resulting from cardiovascular procedures ” his family said in statement on Saturday.
Family statement describes the Great Astronaut as”Caring and loving husband,father,grandfather,brother and friend,” and also a Super hero who always believe that he was just doing a job.
On July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong made history when he set foot on the moon. Of his action Armstrong, who was the commander of Apollo 11 mission said that”That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,”.
Armstrong became the most famous astronaut of the world with his steps on the moon but instead of this he was a very private or reserved man. Author James Hansen wrote book on him,First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong, the astronaut Neil was puzzled by all the fuss over him.
Dream Came True
The Historical and Memorable journey of Armsrtrong came just a few years after flying in space in 1966 , where he was the commander of Gemini 8 mission. But the trip of Flying in Space became disaster when thruster on Armstrong’s craft got stuck open, while sending the ship spinning through space. And they did emergency landing on Pacific Ocean.
In 1968, Neil Armstrong made history. He was the first person ever known who set foot on the moon, At 38 of his age. This was the memorable moment for whole world. After travelling 25000 mile, 4 day journey in Apollo with his fellow astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, he set foot on the moon at 10:56 pm ET. Neil Armstrong spent around 2:30 hours on the moon where as his fellow astronauts Buzz Aldrin spent around 15minutes.
After his trip to Moon, Neil Armstrong worked for National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), until 1971. Later he resigned from NASA and taught engineering at the University of Cincinnati for nearly a decade.
Neil Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio, in 1930. Interest was developed in flying when he was taken for a ride in a Ford Trimotor Plane by his father, when he was at 6 of age. His interest grows so strong that he earned his flight certificate after taking lesson at County Airport at 15 of his age. Later he earned his Master of Science Degree in Engineering from the University of Southern California in 1970.
Neil also spent time in to Naval Air Station Pensacola in 1949 where he flew navy fighter jets during the Korean war, after taking the 18 months of Flight training. After two weeks of his 20th birthday in 1950 he became fully qualified Naval Aviator.
